Pedro's Emotional Farewell to Lazio Fans
Lazio's captain Pedro Rodriguez wrote an emotional letter to the fans, thanking them for his time with the club and bidding farewell before his final match against Pisa. The letter was read out in a video filled with clips of the Spanish forward with the Roman club.
A Decade of Passion and Commitment
“This is a very sad day for me, as I say goodbye to this wonderful journey and to the great family of Lazio,” Pedro wrote. “I want to thank all the fans, players, coaches, and the whole club for allowing me to be a part of the club's glorious history. It's true that I didn't bring joy in the form of a trophy to this place, which I consider my beautiful home. I have always defended the colors of this jersey with courage, humility, ambition, and passion alongside my teammates. I am sure that soon something important will be celebrated with the presence of these wonderful men.”
A Special Bond
Every time I stepped onto the field, I looked up and proudly admired our people. Every emotion, every unforgettable goal, every song we sang together. These are moments that will remain in my memory. The match against Pisa will be my last with this jersey. I will be waiting for you at the stadium and hope you will be close to me. But I also understand that this has been a difficult year for everyone. I most respect your decision (for the protest). It was an honor for me to wear these colors and this emblem on my chest. I wish all the best to the entire Lazio family. I will carry this club in my heart forever. One of you, forza Lazio forever,” the letter read.
It is interesting to note that the world and European champion with Spain arrived at Lazio as a free agent from the city rival Roma. This happened in the summer of 2021, and since then, the former Barcelona youth player has made 208 appearances, scoring 38 goals and providing 19 assists for the Biancocelesti.
