Uroš Tripković, part of the legendary "TNT" trio at Partizan along with Novica Veličković and Milenko Tepić, is remembered for his exceptional shooting ability from beyond the arc. However, frequent health problems and injuries prevented him from fully realizing his immense potential and achieving a more illustrious career.
Close Call with the NBA
Tripković nearly made it to the NBA, where he had an open invitation to play with LeBron James. In a podcast with Edin Avdić, Tripković shared a memorable anecdote about this missed opportunity. At the time, his manager urged him to go to America for some training and a potential tryout. Although initially reluctant, Tripković eventually agreed and traveled to New York.
After 25 days, he received an email from the owner or president of the New York team, welcoming him as a future player. However, his manager informed him that the team did not want to send the letter and instead wanted him to see it in person.
A Career Cut Short
Despite the promising start, Tripković’s health issues and injuries prevented him from taking the next step to the NBA. His career remains a testament to the potential that was never fully realized, leaving fans to wonder what could have been.
If only his health issues didn't get in the way, he could've been a legend in the NBA! It's so frustrating to think about what could've been. What do you think, could he have made it big in the NBA?
