Partizan’s handball team is on the verge of its most successful season in the club's history. The Black and Whites have already secured three trophies, and if they manage to defend the championship title, the 2025/26 season will go down in the club’s history books in gold.
Final Series Begins in Banjica
The final series begins at the Banjica arena. Đorđe Ćirković’s team will face Novi Sad’s Vojvodina on Friday at 7 PM, with the match live on RTS 2 and Arena 3 Premium. The trophy for the national champion will go to the team that achieves two victories.
The head coach emphasizes that the team is not focused on the number of games they will play to defend the trophy, but rather on the quality of their performance and achieving their goals.
Ćirković stated, "Both teams that have made it to the final deserve to be here. Our previous matches have shown that nuances can decide the outcome. In the last seven games, none have been similar, with new details always deciding the matches. So tomorrow will be a new chapter with some new heroes. We are not thinking about how long the final series will last, but we are completely focused on defending our home ground. I believe we have prepared well, all players are healthy and competing for a starting spot. In terms of current form, we are in the same situation – we had a 15-day break, which must affect the competitive rhythm. It is hard to predict which details could decide the winner. We played the semi-final very seriously. As for Vojvodina, their recent match against Dynamo in Pančevo was perhaps the one they played best this season. Our home field is our advantage, and I will reiterate that these guys, with over 280 training sessions, 42 matches so far, and the trophies won, deserve support. That would mean a lot to us, to put a full stop on this, if God wills, phenomenal season and for Partizan to continue developing the project."
Nikola Crnoglavac on the Upcoming Match
Right back Nikola Crnoglavac, the team's top scorer, is always especially motivated against the biggest rival.
Crnoglavac said, "I expect a very tough match against the exceptionally high-quality Vojvodina team. We have won all three trophies so far, but we know that this one is the most important. At this moment, we need to be at our best and most focused. Regarding the match itself, we need to have cool heads and be maximally focused. The pressure is on our side because we need to defend our home ground. I think the defeat in our last head-to-head duel has made us aware that we are not invincible. Against a team like Vojvodina, crucial is defense and the number of lost balls. If we minimize technical errors, we can achieve a positive result. We need a strong defense, along with better goalkeeper performance. We have prepared tactically well, there is nothing new to say. We know each other well, we know each other's strengths and weaknesses, so we are certainly in for a high-quality match."
Entry for the match is free, and tickets are not required.
Neki odigrano, nikakav prav neuspjeh, ali Vojvodina je i dalje najteže suparnik. Srećno, Partizan!
