The path to glory was paved with a dominant 33:27 victory in the first leg at home. But the second leg, played at the Slana Bara arena, did not end with a final whistle. It ended with a walk-off, a suspension of play, and a war of words that threatens to overshadow the trophy itself.

The Incident at Slana Bara

The match was halted in the 15th minute following unrest from Partizan’s fan group, Grobari. What followed was a stalemate. After over an hour of negotiations, Partizan players returned to the court, lacing up and warming down. Their opponents, RK Vojvodina, did not. According to Partizan, all conditions demanded by Vojvodina were met: fans were moved away from the barriers, surrounded by a police cordon, and secured. Yet, the Novi Sad side refused to return.

Denying the Narrative

Vojvodina issued a statement blaming "top-grade" pyrotechnics for injuring referee Marković and Croatian player Fran Mileta. Partizan has dismantled this claim point by point. Video evidence, they argue, shows Mileta was further from the pyrotechnic device than Partizan players in their own defensive zone. More damningly, Mileta showed no immediate reaction to the alleged injury. Partizan also disputes claims that fans tore down safety nets, arguing the cables failed due to age and poor maintenance.

The club slammed Vojvodina for citing safety concerns while ignoring Partizan’s proposal to move the match to the safer SPENS hall. They noted Vojvodina had previously admitted to poor physical conditioning and irregular training. For Partizan, this isn't just a title; it’s a victory over a narrative they deem fabricated. The fans, they say, did nothing but support their club. The tragedy? The public was robbed of a sporting spectacle, replaced instead by political posturing and empty threats.
