Palestine Remembered at Istanbul Etnospor Culture Festival
Humanitarian Focus at the 8th Etnospor Culture Festival
The 8th Etnospor Culture Festival, organized by the World Etnospor Union in Istanbul Atatürk Airport, highlighted not only traditional sports and ancient cultures but also human solidarity. Among the festival's events was the Solidarity Hut and Scholasticide Exhibition, which drew attention to humanitarian dramas, particularly in Gaza and other afflicted regions.
NGOs Unite in Solidarity Hut
Various civil society organizations gathered in the Solidarity Hut, where they conducted presentations and social awareness activities. The hut served as a focal point for cultural work, social responsibility, and awareness campaigns, drawing visitors throughout the festival.
Focus on Gaza
The Solidarity Hut featured activities centered on Gaza, emphasizing the importance of sharing, solidarity, and defending human dignity. Exhibits, face painting, artistic activities, and games all focused on Gaza, with the "Mail Your Message" corner displaying heartfelt messages from children.
'One Heart for Palestine'
The "Scholasticide" exhibition showcased the systematic destruction of Gaza's education system, academic infrastructure, and intellectual capital by Israel. Visitors learned about the extensive human and academic drama unfolding in Gaza under the slogan "One Heart for Palestine."
Financial Impact of Gaza's Educational Crisis
The educational system in Gaza faced a mandatory 911-day interruption, during which 19,260 students and 4,160 pre-school children lost their lives. Educational infrastructure, including 12 universities, was bombed, leaving 625,000 students without basic education rights. To restart education in Gaza, an urgent 86 million dollars is required, with a total budget of 2.6 billion dollars needed to fully address the damage and losses of the past three years.
