The Olympiacos is heading to the EuroLeague Final Four in Athens with the aim of claiming the top spot in European basketball, as well as a substantial financial bonus. This year’s Final Four takes place at the T-Center in Athens from May 22 to 24, with Olympiacos facing Fenerbahçe in the semifinals.

While the competition is driven by the desire to win the prestigious title, the financial rewards are also significant. Each team that reaches the Final Four automatically secures €1.5 million. The financial prizes increase based on the final ranking: the champion receives an additional €900,000, bringing the total to €2.4 million. The runner-up earns a total of €2.1 million, while the third-place team takes home €1.8 million.

The EuroLeague has changed its financial model, eliminating the small final and instead determining the third and fourth places based on regular-season standings. This means that teams are compensated not only for reaching the Final Four but also for their overall performance throughout the season.

The prizes from the Final Four account for approximately 25% of the total earnings a team can accumulate from the tournament, excluding television revenue, ticket sales, sponsorships, and bonuses from wins. For Olympiacos, the goal is not only to return to the pinnacle of European basketball but also to bolster its finances with the additional millions that come with a successful run.
