The match took place at a spectacular event held near the Giza pyramid complex, adding a historic backdrop to the athletic contest.

Verhoeven, known as the "King of Kickboxing," put up a surprisingly resilient fight. For ten rounds, the Dutchman managed to trouble Usik, showcasing durability and skill that exceeded many pre-fight expectations.
