Categorically denied by OFI, Alexandros Kalogeropoulos is not on their radar. The Cretan side is keen on retaining Athanasiou.

The Cretan PAE has categorically denied any involvement in the case of Alexandros Kalogeropoulos. Sportime has revealed that the Greek stopper has been approached by an Italian team and does not seem to be renewing his contract with Olympiacos.

After the finale of a... festive season, OFI is now clearing its roster. The Lamprou and Neira chapters have closed, Chatzitheodoridis, Bainovitch, and Christopoulos are part of the past and may continue. Fountas and Salsido are two open questions as their contracts end and have not been renewed, but OFI has made it clear that their primary target is to retain Nikos Athanasiou in the team.

Arriving as a loan from Olympiacos last season, Athanasiou left a remarkable impression, and the Cretans are determined to negotiate the free transfer of the 25-year-old defender, provided, of course, that Olympiacos agrees to discuss the matter seriously as they do not wish to lose two key players to foreign clubs.

Athanasiou is somewhere... in the middle, and clearly, neither of the two scenarios bothers him. With Chatzitheodoridis already part of the past, Athanasiou's retention is deemed necessary for OFI, as it is not easy to find two reliable left-backs within a season.
