The Lalatović Era Ends

The dust has barely settled on Novi Pazar, and the question hangs heavy in the air: who steps into the boots of Nenad Lalatović? The experienced tactician has departed, leaving a vacuum that demands immediate attention. The next man in charge will carry the weight of Vladimir Gaćinović, the architect who dragged the club into European qualifying, and Lalatović himself, whose tenure brought results but also intense public scrutiny.

Three Names, One Chair

General Director Fikret Međedović spoke exclusively about the hunt. The shortlist, once a crowded field of seven or eight, has been ruthlessly trimmed to three. "We have analyzed every detail of their biographies and coaching careers," Međedović revealed. The club is not looking for a SuperLiga veteran who has bounced between teams for years. Instead, they are weighing two distinct profiles: a proven, seasoned strategist with top-tier experience, or a young, hungry tactician eager to prove himself with an attacking style that mirrors the club’s identity and the fans’ mentality.

A Club on the Rise

Despite the managerial turmoil, Novi Pazar remains a magnet for coaches. Finishing third last season and fifth this year, the club has established itself as a serious contender in a strengthening league. Međedović emphasized that their recent success is a drawcard, not a deterrent. "Everyone wants to work in an organized system and be part of one of the most successful SuperLiga clubs in the last two years," he stated. The departure of Gaćinović was due to necessary rest after the grueling European campaign, not failure. The decision on the new head coach will be finalized by Sunday.
