The Cosmic Belt of the Virgin Mary, along with parts of the True Cross of the Lord, the greatest relics of the entire Christian world, is arriving in Belgrade on May 20th, just before the city's Feast of Ascension celebration. This event has drawn the attention of Novak Djokovic, one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

The Arrival of the Holy Relics

Famous media outlet "Hram.tv" has shared images showing the belt's journey to Serbia, a journey that also took place in 2018. According to reports, the belt should have already arrived in Belgrade, where it will be greeted at the Ascension Church, where Serbian Patriarch Porphyrios will be presiding over the festive evening service.

Djokovic's Devotion

In a post on his Instagram, Djokovic wrote:

- Holy Mother of God, rejoice, blessed Mary. Have mercy on us and bless us.

The belt is a physical testament to a relic from the life of the Virgin Mary and her son, which has survived for two millennia. Many wonder how an item made of fabric could have lasted so long, especially given that the belt was woven by Mary herself from camel hair. A monk explained in an interview how this was possible, noting that it was a Jewish custom for women to weave a belt for their brides on their wedding day. Since Mary was not married, she kept the belt with her, present during significant moments in her life, including the Annunciation and the Crucifixion of Jesus. Three days after her death, she entrusted the belt to Saint Thomas.

The belt has survived for two thousand years, and a monk from the monastery explained that it is due to the golden thread that covers the belt today. This thread, added by Queen Zoe, who was healed by the belt, is what has preserved it for so long.

The belt has previously visited Russia and Greece and is now making its way to Serbia.
