An Airbus A220-300 belonging to Croatia Airlines, part of the airline's new fleet, was involved in a serious incident at Split Airport on Saturday around 1:30 PM. The aircraft, known as the Osijek, is one of six delivered out of the 15 purchased for approximately half a billion euros.

The aircraft, registered as 9A-CAN, is part of a series of new planes named after Croatian cities. Croatia Airlines received this aircraft for the first time just under a year ago, on June 28, 2022.
