Museum Night 2026: Free Entry to Museums and Historic Sites Across Romania

Dozens of museums, historic monuments, and emblematic buildings in Bucharest will open their doors to the public as part of the 2026 Museum Night. On Saturday, May 23, visitors will have access to exhibitions, guided tours, and interactive activities organized by some of the capital's most important cultural institutions. The Antipa Museum, Cotroceni Palace, the Arch of Triumph, the National Military Museum, and the Bucharest City Hall are among the institutions that will be accessible for free until late into the night.

Launched in 2005 under the auspices of the Council of Europe and coordinated at the European level by the European Museum Organization Network (NEMO), "Museum Night" is celebrating its 22nd edition in Romania this year.

National Military Museum Participates in Museum Night

The National Military Museum "King Ferdinand I" is organizing an event titled "A Night at the National Military Museum" on Saturday, May 23, from 12:00 to 24:00, as part of the Museum Night program. Entry will be free. Visitors will be able to explore the pavilions dedicated to general military history and the history of aviation. Between 17:00 and 18:30, the Representative Music of the Ministry of National Defense will perform a series of concerts with military fanfare, marches, and promenade music.

Additionally, soldiers from the 30th Brigade Guard "Mihai Viteazul" will perform drill team exercises between 18:00 and 19:00. As in previous years, the event will feature participation from various military bands.
