Romanian coach Mirel Rădoi, aged 45, has returned to Romania from Turkey to attend the crucial match between Universitatea Craiova and U Cluj, which could decide the title race in the Romanian Superliga. Rădoi had a tough time in Turkey, recording four losses in as many games with Gaziantep FC.

The match between Universitatea Craiova and U Cluj is scheduled for May 17, 2026, at 8:30 PM local time, at the “Ion Oblemenco” stadium. According to sport.ro, Rădoi will be present at the match, which could bring the title to Craiova.

Rădoi arrived at Otopeni Airport on Sunday, May 17, and is heading to Craiova to support his former team. After his team's last defeat in the Turkish league, Rădoi took responsibility for the team's poor performance and announced significant changes for the upcoming season. He stated that the team would part ways with several players during the transfer window.

“I take the blame for these results. I made mistakes too; no one is perfect. In the summer, some players will leave, and others will stay. We need to see who is leaving and who is staying, and this will be decided in the summer. If we don't be honest with ourselves, next year will be even harder for us,” Rădoi declared after the match.
