Romanian coach Mirel Rădoi (45) has addressed speculation about his potential departure from Gaziantep FK, following reports that his exit could soon become a reality. Rădoi signed with the Turkish team in the aftermath of his departure from FC Sion (FCSB) in Romania. Gigi Becali, the owner of FCSB (67), had initially sought his assistance, but Rădoi managed only five matches before leaving the club.

Challenges at Gaziantep FK

Rădoi took over Gaziantep FK during a time when the club was facing relegation. Despite this, the Romanian coach's results have been disappointing. Gaziantep FK suffered four consecutive losses, even before the end of the season. These results have led to speculation about Rădoi's potential departure this summer, despite having signed a contract valid for one and a half years.

Response to Speculation

Rădoi firmly denied the rumors, explaining to a Turkish journalist, "I have a clear contract with Gaziantep FK, valid for another year. We are focusing on resolving issues with FIFA and planning our strategy for the upcoming season. Currently, we need to know if we can only sign free agents."

The club is currently under a FIFA transfer ban for three transfer windows due to outstanding debts. Gaziantep FK's results under Rădoi's leadership include losses against Eyüpspor (0-3), Beşiktaş (0-2), Göztepe (1-2), and Başakşehir (1-2).

After the third match, Rădoi acknowledged the difficult situation, saying, "This is the first time in my career that I have experienced three consecutive defeats. Despite creating 16 scoring opportunities in these matches, we managed to score only once."

Gaziantep FK's latest defeat came against Istanbul Başakşehir (1-2), further frustrating Rădoi.
