Universitatea Craiova secured the Romanian league title after a decisive 5-0 victory over Universitatea Cluj. Coach Mihai Rotaru spoke about the team's success, emphasizing that the achievement is a collective effort, not just of individual leaders.

Universitatea Craiova dominated Universitatea Cluj with a score of 5-0, winning the Romanian title with one round to spare. Immediately following the match at the "Ion Oblemenco" stadium, Rotaru reflected on the team's strong performance and the factors that led to their success.

"Emotion, hope, trust. Emotion is the word. Emotions push you, you know you need to succeed. Finals are won, not played. There were crucial moments in this championship, such as the departure of Mirel, the AEK Athens moment, the Farul Constanta moment, the FC Arges moment. All these moments were managed well by Universitatea Craiova. The best decisions were made," Rotaru said.

Rotaru praised the team's strong character and leadership, attributing the success to the collective effort of the players and the coaching staff. He emphasized that the team's success is a result of the city and region's support and the fans' attitude.

"The team belongs to the city and the region, not to Mirel or Filipe. The Oltenian supporter is an attitude supporter, not just a result supporter. We showed today that we have the attitude to be champions. All decisions made were good, leading us to this point. We need to take responsibility and make decisions," he added.

Rotaru also highlighted the team's strong performances in Europe, defeating Rapid Wien and Mainz, and expressed his happiness about securing the title after 35 years.

"If some moments were not managed poorly, we could have qualified from the top eight. Now, looking back is futile. I am happy because, after 35 years, Craiova is the champion of Romania."
