Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo, Daniel Panov, expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in preparing and hosting the Giro d'Italia, a significant event that brought the ancient capital into the global cycling spotlight. “With the Giro d'Italia, Veliko Tarnovo and world-class cycling are now one! Together, we wrote a new chapter in the history of our city and Bulgaria! The old capital remains at the center of attention for hundreds of millions of viewers and tens of thousands of visitors here for the Giro d'Italia – an event of world magnitude,” Panov commented.

Over half a year of work, much of which was behind the scenes, made the event possible. “Thanks to the entire dedication of everyone involved, the Giro d'Italia happened, and our city was presented excellently,” Panov stated.

Panov thanked his entire team in Veliko Tarnovo, coordinated by Deputy Mayor Georgi Nedev, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the local tourist agency "Tsarevgrad Tarnovo," all partners, and all volunteers and enthusiasts who helped, including from “Tarnovo Ultra,” “Tarnovo Runs,” and the sports clubs “Glygan” and others. He also expressed appreciation for the folklore groups that united for the event.

The mayor also showed special gratitude to the citizens of Veliko Tarnovo, who created a welcoming atmosphere and demonstrated the hospitality of the old capital. “I thank you for your patience during all the challenges – repairs, closed streets, and traffic difficulties that are always part of organizing such large-scale events. I believe all the efforts were worth it! We will continue moving forward,” Panov concluded.
