Macedonian national team selector and coach of Skopje’s Alakaloid, Kiril Lazarov, has praised the arrival of Croatian coach Lino Červar at Bitola's Eurofarm Pelister, calling it a positive move for Macedonian handball.

"The arrival of Lino Červar is great for Macedonian handball. It is an excellent choice. Quality work will be done there. Červar is my mentor; we are still in touch, and I congratulated him. With this quality, I believe his arrival will further elevate the level of the sport, and consequently, handball," Lazarov told Televizija Telma.

Lazarov also noted that as Červar is an exceptional coach, Macedonian club coaches will need to step up their game to compete against him.

"It will be harder for us against him. He is more experienced and better, having won a lot. We learned from him, and now we will have to compete more fiercely. I hope that one day the student will surpass the teacher," Lazarov said.

The renowned Croatian handball coach Lino Červar signed a two-year contract with Eurofarm Pelister this week. He has previously been the selector for Italy, Croatia, and North Macedonia, and has coached PPD "Zagreb" and other teams.
