Lviv, Bulgaria — "The Blues" of Levski have reclaimed the Bulgarian championship after a long wait, breaking Ludogorets' 14-year dominance with a 1-0 victory. The match took place at the Gorna Brestnitsa Stadium, where nearly 20,000 fans witnessed history.

Three members of the 2009 champion team—Daniel Borimirov, Bozhidar Mitrev, and Darco Tashevski—received golden medals to commemorate this historic moment. Borimirov is currently the executive director of the club, while Mitrev serves as the goalkeeping coach. Tashevski is a coaching assistant.

The trophy was handed over by Georgi Ivanov-Gonzo, the current president of the Bulgarian Football Federation, who was also instrumental in winning the 2009 title. The event was marked by a symbolic moment when Ivanov, recovering from injury, raised the trophy alongside the team captain, Georgi Kostadinov.

In addition to the three medalists, other members of the 2009 team still involved with the club include Hristo Yovov, Vladimir Gadjev, and Georgi Sarmov. The team's coach, Julio Velasquez, has also been added to the Hall of Fame at the Georgi Asparuhov Stadium.

However, the celebrations were marred by an incident where a fan of Levski verbally attacked the wife of one of the players, Mazir Sulah. The player responded by posting a message on social media, threatening retribution.

The general sponsor of the club also presented the champions with a check for €613,550 as a team bonus.
