Serbian tennis player Dušan Lajović secured a place in the quarterfinals of the Valencian Challenger after a grueling match against German Daniel Altmajer. The match concluded with a 3:6, 7:5, 7:6(5) victory for Lajović, extending their rivalry to a second win this season. The match lasted for three hours and 13 minutes.

Lajović has expressed a desire to return to the top 100 in the world rankings, and his recent form suggests this could happen soon. Altmajer, ranked 64th on the ATP list, demonstrated that Lajović is still capable of competing with top players in the sport. Lajović entered the tournament ranked 132nd globally, and a title run could see him approaching the top 100 before the start of the French Open.

Also competing in the same tournament is Miomir Kecmanović, who has also secured a place among the top eight.

The next challenge for Lajović will be against Alejandro Tabila, who advanced to the quarterfinals after a straight-set victory over Aleksandar Kovačević. We will have to see how Lajović’s marathon match affects his performance as he heads towards the semifinals.
