Rade Krunić, Crvena Zvezda’s midfielder, has finally addressed the topic that has been in the spotlight recently: why he does not play for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Despite being one of the region’s top midfielders for years, Krunić has faced criticism for singing the Serbian national anthem, making him less welcome in the Bosnia and Herzegovina camp.

Frankly, I think too much dust has been stirred up around me, about singing the anthem and everything else. Probably, I am no longer welcome there. That is the selector’s decision, and I respect it – Krunić said in the show "Superindirektno."

While aware that the doors of the Bosnia and Herzegovina team may be closed to him, Krunić spoke respectfully about the current leadership in Sarajevo's football scene and the legendary captain.

I would go anywhere for Edin Džeko. He is extraordinary, so humble, and such a football giant. As for the selector Bareša, he has produced results, and there is nothing to say about that. I must mention Emir Spahić too; he is a serious authority, and I believe he is a key figure in Bosnia’s rise.

Krunić’s career has seen him play for several clubs, including Sutjeska from Foča, Donji Srem, Borac from Čačak, Empoli, Milan, and Fenerbahçe, before fulfilling his childhood dream and joining Crvena Zvezda.
