NEW YORK -- Jalen Brunson led the New York Knicks to a stunning 22-point comeback in the fourth quarter to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 115-104 in overtime, taking Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals.

The Knicks were down 93-71 with just over seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. However, Brunson scored 38 points, including a late basket to tie the game at 101-all with 19 seconds left. The Knicks then dominated overtime, outscoring the Cavaliers 9-0 to secure the win.

This comeback marks the second time in the last 30 postseasons that a team has rallied from a 22-point deficit in the fourth quarter. The Knicks now stand three wins away from their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999.

Brunson, who was relentless in attacking James Harden, praised his team's perseverance. "We got some stops, we kept fighting, kept believing. Just kept chipping away," he told ESPN.

Mikal Bridges added 18 points, while OG Anunoby and two other Knicks scored 13 points each. The Cavaliers, led by Donovan Mitchell's 29 points, were stunned by the late surge.

The Knicks have won eight straight games and will host Game 2 on Thursday. Despite their previous success, the Knicks struggled to find their rhythm for much of the game, but they found their form just in time.

The only bigger fourth-quarter playoff comeback in the last 30 years was the Los Angeles Clippers' 24-point comeback against Memphis in 2012.
