The Champion Returns to the Court
The spotlight shifts to Bucharest as Gergana Kioseva steps back into the arena. The veteran Bulgarian setter has officially returned to Dinamo București following her maternity leave. The club announced the news with pride, welcoming back a player who knows exactly how to command the court. At 30 years old, Kioseva brings a wealth of experience and a hunger for competition that has not dimmed during her time away.
A Career Forged in Gold
Her resume reads like a hall of fame induction speech. Before rejoining Dinamo in January of last year, Kioseva tested her skills in the Chinese league with Liaoning. But her roots in Romanian volleyball run deep. She claimed the championship title with KSM Targovishte during the 2020/2021 season alongside fellow Bulgarian star Maria Koleva. She then moved to Volley Alba Blaj, where she helped secure a golden treble, winning the league title again in 2022/2023.
Her journey has taken her across borders. She wore the jersey of Çukurova Bелеdiye Adana Demirspor in Turkey during the 2023/2024 campaign and previously played for PTT Spor in Ankara during 2019/2020. Her career also includes stops at CSKA Sofia, as well as clubs in France and Switzerland. She is a true international veteran.
Dynamo’s Bronze Pedigree
Dinamo Bucharest enters this new chapter with momentum. The "Red and Whites" secured bronze medals in the Romanian Division A1 for the second consecutive year. They dominated their playoff series against Corona Brașov, sweeping them with a decisive 3-0 victory. With Kioseva back in the lineup, the squad looks to build on that success. The setter’s return adds a layer of tactical sophistication that could push the team higher in the standings next season. The stage is set for a compelling campaign.
