Manchester City striker Khadija Shaw has been named WSL Player of the Season and Golden Boot winner after a dominant campaign in the Women's Super League.

The 29-year-old Jamaican international has been the standout player, scoring 21 goals in 22 appearances as Manchester City clinched their first WSL title in a decade. Shaw's success is part of her third consecutive Golden Boot award.

Earlier in May, Shaw also won the Football Writers' Association Women's Footballer of the Year award and was named Manchester City's Player of the Season. Known affectionately as 'Bunny', she has been the subject of media attention following contract negotiations that broke down, with her current deal set to expire in June.

Chelsea are the frontrunners to secure Shaw on a free transfer in the summer, as interest from clubs worldwide remains strong. During City's homecoming celebrations at the Albert Hall, fans chanted "we want Bunny to stay."

Shaw, who joined City in 2021, has been the club's top scorer in four of her five seasons and holds the record for the most hat-tricks in the WSL (six). She contributed hat-tricks against Tottenham and a four-goal performance against Aston Villa, as well as scoring the crucial opener in the 3-2 win over Arsenal in October.

Manchester City will aim to secure a domestic double if they defeat Brighton in the Women's FA Cup final on Sunday, 31 May. Shaw beat team-mate Kerstin Casparij and rivals Alessia Russo of Arsenal and Kirsty Hanson of Aston Villa to the WSL Player of the Season award.

Hanson took home the WSL Goal of the Season for her strike against West Ham in October. Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton earned the Golden Glove trophy, having kept eight clean sheets in 19 appearances. Veerle Buurman of Chelsea was named the Rising Star of the WSL.

The ceremony in London also celebrated the induction of Casey Stoney, Kerys Harrop, and Matt Beard into the WSL Hall of Fame.
