Kerem Aktürkoğlu Discusses Transfer Possibilities at Fenerbahçe
Fenerbahçe's Star Kerem Aktürkoğlu Speaks After Match Against Eyüpspor
In the 34th and final week of the Süper Lig, Fenerbahçe played to a 3-3 draw against Eyüpspor. Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who joined the club at the beginning of the season, made some significant statements.
“I am very happy and proud to wear the Fenerbahçe jersey,” Aktürkoğlu said. “I will never regret having worn this uniform, and that should be understood.”
He continued, “We wanted to achieve more, but things didn’t go as planned. We can’t predict what will happen next. I believe in the club and its fans. We wanted to finish with a victory, but we are disappointed and apologize to everyone.”
Aktürkoğlu expressed the team’s struggles this season. “There is much to say, but I won’t say it now. We went through a difficult season. I believe the coming year will be much better, and our fans should too. We have been supported everywhere, thank you. We could have done better, but it didn’t happen.”
Regarding his decision to join Fenerbahçe, Aktürkoğlu said, “We will have very different conversations next year. I made a decision and chose Fenerbahçe. I am very happy and proud. We promise to give our fans happy days.”
Asked about the World Cup, Aktürkoğlu responded, “The World Cup is very important for our country. We are going there after many years. It has been a very tiring season. The excitement of the World Cup is different. We have all dreamed of this. We are happy to be going, but we need to be successful there too. Our country and we need this. I hope the team will work together without distinction. We will be successful there.”
Kerem's statements are a mixed bag — he's clearly proud of the Fenerbahçe jersey but there's a sense of unfinished business. What do you think about his future at the club? Will he stay or go?
