Kayserispor Issues Statement on Super Lig Registration

In a written statement from the club, Kayserispor claims that fair competition in Turkish football was compromised this season, with match-fixing overshadowing the play on the field.

The statement recalls the ongoing "football betting-fix" investigation, noting that several club presidents and managers have been arrested as part of the operations. "Given the extremely serious nature of these findings for Turkish football, it is not sufficient for the legal process alone to address the situation. Evaluating actions that affect match outcomes from a sporting perspective is essential to maintaining the integrity, fairness, and public conscience of football in our country."

The club emphasized that ignoring issues such as match-fixing, illegal betting, and money laundering at the level of club presidents and managers is unacceptable. "While the legal processes continue, the fact that the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (SDIF) has frozen the accounts of two clubs competing in the Super Lig due to ongoing investigations is a very serious and unusual scenario for Turkish football. Evaluating such serious developments that directly impact the reliability of sporting competition purely from a legal perspective is not possible. It is essential that the Turkish Football Federation assesses the sporting outcomes of such interventions, including point deductions and relegation, to establish a fair competitive environment."

With legal investigations ongoing, Kayserispor argues that confirming sporting results prematurely risks creating irreversible consequences for public conscience and fair competition. "At this stage, we believe that the final results and registration procedures for the Super Lig should not be announced. It is crucial that the Turkish Football Federation comprehensively evaluates the processes in front of the legal authorities and implements necessary sanctions within the framework of regulations to re-establish a fair and equal competitive environment."
