Kalinina and Martincova to Compete for First Titles in Rabat
Ukrainian Angelina Kalinina or Croatian Petra Martincova will secure their first titles from the WTA 250 tour this Saturday. Both have qualified for the final of the clay court tournament in Rabat and will have the opportunity to claim the most prestigious accolade in their careers thus far.
Kalinina's Dominant Semi-Final
In her semi-final, Kalinina, ranked 84th globally, was relentless against Hungary's 7th-ranked Panarot Udvardi. The Ukrainian won 6-0, 6-3 in just 61 minutes of play. She conceded merely eight points in the first set, while Udvardi started better in the second but could only hold until 2-2 before being broken again, which decided the match.
Martincova's Close Semi-Final
More intrigue was present in the second semi-final, where 76th-ranked Martincova defeated Swiss Jil Teichmann 7-6(2), 6-3. Both players exchanged one break each until the midpoint of the first set, with no further breaks occurring. Martincova dominated the tiebreak, leading 4-1 and never relinquishing the advantage to win 7-2. In the second set, the Croatian led 5-1 and, despite a slight slip, it did not cost her the victory.
The final will mark the first WTA 250 title for either player, highlighting their significant progress in the women’s tennis circuit. Both Kalinina and Martincova have shown resilience and skill throughout the tournament, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion in Rabat.
това е отличен финал за двете играчки и надявам се, че ще им се удави да си спечелят титла.
