Jens Berthel Askou Appointed as New Toulouse Coach
Toulouse has officially announced the appointment of Danish coach Jens Berthel Askou as their new senior coach. The 43-year-old Dane replaces Carlos Martinez, who announced his departure at the end of April.
Askou's Previous Success with Motherwell
Before taking over the French side, Askou led Motherwell in Scotland. Under his guidance, the team secured 61 points from 47 matches and finished fourth in the Scottish Championship.
"I am exceptionally happy to join Toulouse. The talent the club possesses, combined with a well-established structure, clear and aligned strategies, highly qualified specialists, and a drive for further development, convinced me to accept the offer," Askou stated.
Toulouse's 2025/2026 Season
In the 2025/2026 season, Toulouse finished 10th in Ligue 1 with 44 points. The final match of the season against Nantes was not completed due to unrest caused by fans invading the pitch.
