Singer Jelena Tomašević, a member of the Serbian jury that voted in the Eurovision final, has apologized to the Croatian group Lelek after the Serbian jury gave them zero points. The decision caused widespread confusion and controversy in the region, especially as Croatia had awarded the Serbian group Lavina 12 points.
Jelena Tomašević addressed the situation on her Instagram account, explaining that she personally awarded Lelek many points, but this did not reflect in the overall jury score.
"Dear Zorja and girls of Lelek, congratulations on your outstanding performance. You received a large number of points from me last night. I am sorry that this was not visible in the final jury tally. Let the points not be your main takeaway from the competition. In 2005, I received zero points from the jury for the song 'Jutro.' I know how you feel. Big hugs to you," she wrote.
Lelek's Response to Lavina
The Croatian group Lelek responded after the Eurovision final, acknowledging the zero points from the Serbian jury. Despite this, the girls expressed their satisfaction with their performance and noted that their relationship with Serbian group Lavina was unaffected.
"On the Eurovision stage in the final, we felt like queens! We gave it our all, and we truly felt the presence of the audience in the final. We are happy! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who voted and cheered for us," the girls stated.
"We have nothing against the band Lavina. In fact, we had fun in Vienna, and the guys told us they were giving us full support," they added.
This Eurovision controversy is just another example of how drama makes the show! But seriously, the support and camaraderie between Lelek and Lavina is heartwarming. What do you think about the jury's decisions?
