Bulgaria Becoming One of the Most Expensive Countries in Europe for Essential Goods
Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Ivaylo Kalfin, has warned that Bulgaria is rapidly becoming one of the most expensive countries in Europe for essential goods. Kalfin shared his concerns in an interview with Bulgarian National Television (BNT).
Kalfin emphasized that the state always has money, but it is a matter of setting priorities. "The state always has money; it’s a question of priorities," he stated when commenting on the national budget.
He pointed out that it is crucial for the next government to address the rising costs of essential goods, a situation that could significantly affect the standard of living for many Bulgarians. As the cost of living continues to rise, the affordability of basic necessities becomes a pressing concern for the country's population.
While Kalfin did not specify the exact measures that should be taken, his remarks highlight the need for the new government to focus on economic policies that can mitigate the increasing prices of essential commodities and ensure that the cost of living remains within manageable levels for the average Bulgarian citizen.
