The "Youth" international athletics tournament will be held at the city stadium in Ruse on May 9th. This competition is specifically designed for boys and girls under 18 years of age, with over 400 young athletes from Bulgaria, Turkey, Ukraine, Moldova, Serbia, and Romania participating. A total of 355 athletes from 45 clubs across Bulgaria have registered, while over 70 foreign participants will also take part.
The main goal for the best performers in this age group is to achieve the qualifying standards for the European Championships under 18 in Rieti, Italy (July 16-19) and the World Championships under 30 in Eugene, Oregon, USA (August 5-9).
The tournament will begin at 13:30, with the final events and awards ceremony continuing until 19:00. The top three athletes in each gender category will receive cash prizes: 1st place - 150 euros, 2nd place - 125 euros, and 3rd place - 100 euros. The main organizers of the tournament are the Athletics Club Dunav-Ruse, in collaboration with the Bulgarian Federation of Athletics and the Municipality of Ruse.
