Inter Targeting Roma Midfielder Manu Koné

Inter Milan, the Italian champion, is exploring the possibility of acquiring Manu Koné from Roma and Curtis Jones from Liverpool this summer. The club is aiming to revamp its midfield following the expected departure of Davide Frattesi. According to "Tuttosport," Koné is the primary transfer target for Inter. The French midfielder joined Roma from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2024 for €18 million, plus €2 million in bonuses. He has played 81 matches for Roma, scoring four goals and providing six assists.

Although Koné's contract runs until June 2029, with a net salary of €2.8 million per season, Roma might agree to sell him to meet the requirements of the financial fair play rules.

Inter had previously attempted to sign Koné last August but is now ready to renew its interest following a recommendation from coach Christian Kivu. A potential deal could include an exchange where Roma would receive Carlos Augusto and/or Frattesi, which would satisfy the needs of both clubs.

The potential signing of Manu Koné does not preclude the possibility of acquiring another midfielder. Curtis Jones, who is under contract with Liverpool until June 2027, earns an annual salary of €500,000, making the deal financially attractive. The English national is being considered as a complement rather than a replacement for Koné.

Curtis Jones Agrees to Join Inter

Both players were born in 2001, aligning with Inter’s strategy to sign players in their prime. Jones is also seen as an alternative to the coveted signing of Nico Pas, whom Real Madrid is expected to buy back from Como for €10 million at the end of the season before deciding his future.
