Inter has reached an agreement with coach Kristijan Kivuo to extend their collaboration until June 2028, according to Italian media. The contract also includes an option for an additional season, extending until summer 2029. According to journalist Nikola Skire, the 45-year-old coach will earn approximately 4 million euros per season under the new agreement, a significant increase from the previous 2 million euros per season. Kivuo’s current contract was set to expire on June 30, 2027.
Kivuo took over Inter in the summer of 2025, following stints at Parma and multiple years in Milan’s youth system, where he coached various younger teams, including the Primavera squad. In his first full season as head coach, Kivuo led Inter to the Serie A title and the national cup, solidifying his position at the club. The management has already discussed future plans with Kivuo, including strengthening the team before the 2026/27 season.
Among the key topics were the status of defender Aleksandar Bastonja, who has drawn interest from Barcelona, and potential reinforcements to bolster the team. Kivuo, who left a significant mark on Inter as a player with the generation that won the historic treble under José Mourinho in 2010, has also worked as a coach with younger teams.
Kivu's success deserves this contract extension, but will Inter keep up the pressure? The next season is crucial for both the club and the coach!
