Croatian player Mario Hezonja of Real Madrid expressed confidence ahead of the EuroLeague Final Four, emphasizing the team's readiness and goal to win the European championship. Hezonja, speaking to Real Madrid's club television, highlighted that pressure should not affect the team's performance.
"I believe the team is in good form, prepared, and ready to play at a high level against Valencia Basket," Hezonja stated. "This is the most important basketball tournament in the world. We must go there with the goal of winning, but without the burden of pressure, which never brings anything good. We need to play with passion, be completely focused, and know how to handle everything surrounding this tournament. Although it is a great experience, there are many distractions. We must be smart in our preparation and how we react to everything that awaits us," he added.
Hezonja also spoke about the injuries of his teammates and the significance of playing for Real Madrid. "It is a great honor to wear this uniform for so long, and I hope to do so for many more years. Everyone must take responsibility. It is a great loss that both Walter Tavares and Alex Len are injured at the same position, as we have immense respect for them."
Hezonja praised Valencia's team and coach Pedro Martinez. "Valencia has been playing at a high level throughout the season. They have a roster that allows for many rotations and changes in the game. Their offensive potential is exceptionally high." He added that the excellent performances of Valencia were not surprising to him.
"It may be a surprise to many media and fans, but when you know these players and Pedro, who is a great coach and has already achieved great success with Manresa, you are prepared for the level this team can reach. They beat us in the Super Cup, so now we must raise our level of play, as it will be very difficult to overcome them."
