Dynamically continuing in the open European Championships of the Olympic ILCA class in Croatia, the Greek sailors have been making waves, with Georgios Papadakos leading the pack. Weather conditions have been challenging, with ideal starts turning into strong thunderstorms. In the ILCA 7 category, only one race was completed, while the women's ILCA 6 category managed two races. In the fourth race, Papadakos received a black flag (59 penalty points), but he still ranks 7th overall with 12 points. In the first three races, he finished 9th, 1st, and 2nd, respectively. A total of 173 boats from 51 countries are competing.

Adamantios Petriano is 47th with 55 points and 9th in the U23 category, Athanasios Kufidis is 76th with 83 points and 25th in the U23 category, and Spyros Provleggios is 97th with 109 points. In the women's ILCA 6 category, Varvara Portou is 46th with 109.3 points out of 120 boats from 40 countries. She is 15th in the U23 category. Hermioni Gika is 51st with 130 points and 18th in the U23 category, Miranta Papadaki is 66th with 161 points and 30th in the U23 category, Maria Vlachou is 85th with 200 points, and Evangelia Karageorgou had to withdraw due to an injury.

The European iQFOiL Championships in Portugal

The European Open Championship of the Olympic iQFOiL class is ongoing in Portugal. After eight races, Danae Giannouli is 26th with 74 points overall and 6th in the U23 category, while Danae Pontifex is 43rd with 100 points. Among the men, after eight races, Petros Kontarinos is 84th with 212.71 points and 29th in the U23 category, Alexandros Kokkinakis is 89th with 230 points and 32nd in the U23 category, and Leonidas Eustathios is 98th with 265 points. There are 117 boats from 35 countries participating.

The O.R.C. World Championship in Italy

The O.R.C. World Championship 2026 took place in Sorrento, Italy, from May 5 to 14, with over 100 boats from 20 countries competing in eight races under varying weather conditions. The Greek presence was significant, with four boats competing in three of the four categories. In category A, the ANTELOPE (Patrik Tottas) from NO Thessaloniki finished 21st out of 26 boats and 4th in the Corinthians category. The ELLINIX FARR AWAY (Stergios Leontaridis) from NO Thessaloniki finished 23rd out of 26 boats. In category B, the LILI II-GINZA (Odysseas Gavraniidis) from NAO Kalamarias Thessaloniki finished 18th out of 25 boats and 8th in the Corinthians category. In category C, the AELOUS II (Panagiotis Pachts) from NO Palaiou Falerou finished 18th out of 38 boats and 7th in the Corinthians category. The participation of Greek boats and crews adds value to Greek open sea sailing.
