Starting from May 8th to May 10th, traffic restrictions will be implemented gradually on specific sections of the national road network in Bulgaria, as part of the Giro d'Italia - Bulgaria Grande Partenza cycling event. The changes will affect segments of the first, second, and third-class road networks in the regions of Burgas, Sliven, Yambol, Veliko Tarnovo, Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, and Sofia.

The Road Police sector will ensure the smooth passage of cyclists, and traffic will be restored gradually after the last accompanying vehicle passes through and upon approval from the Ministry of the Interior.

The cycling route for the event is as follows:

May 8th: The first stage of the competition will take place in the Burgas region. The race will start at 2 PM in the city of Nesebar, moving through the I-9 highway and passing through the city of Burgas. The route will continue through Sozopol, then return to Burgas. The first stage will end around 5 PM on Democracy Boulevard.

May 9th: The second stage will cover the regions of Burgas, Sliven, Yambol, and Veliko Tarnovo. The race will start at noon in Burgas, and the route will take participants through Sliven and Veliko Tarnovo. The second stage will end around 5 PM in the center of Veliko Tarnovo.

May 10th: The third stage will involve segments of the national road network in the regions of Plovdiv, Pazardzhik, and Sofia. The race will start at 1 PM in Plovdiv, moving through Sofia. The competition will end around 5 PM in front of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.

The Road Infrastructure Agency urges drivers to exercise extra caution, maintain appropriate speed, and keep necessary distance, avoiding risky overtaking that jeopardizes the safety of other road users.
