Gaziantep Chairman Memik Yılmaz has reaffirmed his support for Romanian coach Mirel Rădoi, despite the team's poor performance since Rădoi's appointment on April 22. The team has lost all four matches under Rădoi, failing to secure any points in this season. However, Yılmaz remains committed to the coach and the team's future.

Gaziantep ended the Turkish league in 12th place, far from the relegation zone but still disappointed after losing their last four matches. The results under Rădoi have been particularly poor: 0-3 away to Eyüpspor, 0-2 at home to Besiktas, 1-2 away to Göztepe, and 1-2 at home to Basaksehir.

Challenges and Future Goals

Yılmaz has evaluated the team's performance this season and noted that after a promising first half, the team's form deteriorated. Looking forward, he expressed a strong desire for greater success in the upcoming season, supported by the entire city.

"We ended the first half of the season in a good position, even reaching fourth place at times. Unfortunately, we couldn't maintain that momentum. I sincerely thank the fans, the city, the players, the coaching staff, and all the personnel for their efforts. This season has required sacrifices, and I hope we will have much more success next year."

Yılmaz highlighted the financial challenges the club faces, competing against teams with much larger budgets. He stated, "We try to compete with teams worth 500 million euros in a league with budgets of just 10 million euros. We have made all necessary sacrifices, and we will continue to do so."

Fan Support and Youth Development

Yılmaz also emphasized the importance of fan support and the club's focus on developing young, promising players. He noted that the club has reduced its average age significantly, with recent acquisitions like Selçuk İnan, Burak Yılmaz, and Mirel Rădoi.

"We always aim to bring young, promising players who are thirsty for success. Our coaching choices have been oriented towards this goal. We are happy with the increase in fan numbers this season. We are looking to sell our season tickets soon and hope for continued support from our fans, who are our strongest force."
