Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek provided insights into one of the most talked-about transfers of the season, involving Victor Osimhen. Speaking about the transfer atmosphere, Özbek noted that the championship success and the joy it brought motivated him. He addressed claims that Galatasaray took a bold step by acquiring Osimhen, stating that there was no hesitation in the decision-making process. Özbek mentioned that the club’s administrator, Abdullah Kavukcu, called him and he immediately gave approval for the transfer to be completed.

Özbek also touched on the financial aspect of the transfer, highlighting the market value of top European strikers. "A striker at the Champions League level is no longer below 35-40 million euros. Instead of giving 40 million to an unknown player, we chose to give 75 million to Osimhen, whom we know and have seen," he said. He emphasized that Osimhen quickly made a significant contribution to the team, both on the field and in enhancing the club’s brand value.

Özbek praised Osimhen, saying, "Osimhen encouraged us. He did what was expected of him both in terms of prestige and benefit. It was a good move to transfer him." He further asserted that if Osimhen were to be put on the market today, he would fetch much higher figures. "I won’t sell him for 100 million, why should I?" he stated, expressing his satisfaction with the transfer.
