Galatasaray Chairman Dursun Özbek has announced an ambitious €600 million goal for the club, following their 26th Super Lig title. Özbek made the announcement at a gathering on Galatasaray Island.
Özbek highlighted the club’s recent renovation efforts at the Kalamış facilities. "When we took office, we promised certain goals for Galatasaray. The Galatasaray Island, which had been unusable for a long time, is now a perfect facility open to our members. It is the apple of Istanbul's eye. Additionally, we have completed renovations at the Kalamış facilities. On May 19th, we will come together to remember our forefathers and celebrate Youth and Sports Day," he said.
Moving on to the Riva project, Özbek noted, "When we took office, the Riva project was ongoing. We revised our agreement with Emlak Konut for the second phase on November 2024. Sales and marketing are being conducted. A 30-dönüm commercial area adjacent to the Riva plot has been added to our club."
Regarding the project in Mecidiyeköy, Özbek said, "Our building in Mecidiyeköy... When we took office, we converted it into a residential unit. We played a significant role in the acquisition of land in Florya that did not belong to us. This helped accelerate all projects. We plan to deliver the apartments in June. This project is complete."
Touching on the Florya project, Özbek stated, "Florya is a very important step towards our club's financial independence. We advanced with all the sensitivities. Such is the knowledge. A land-for-shares agreement has been signed, and a €50 million advance payment has been made to the club, helping us navigate the Bankers Union crisis."
