The Gabrovo Carnival "Gabrovo 2026" with the theme "The End is Near. Let's Set It Free!" is set to begin on May 16. This weekend, Gabrovo will transform into a massive, multifaceted, musical, and light-filled stage, drawing thousands of people for an unforgettable event.

The traditional carnival procession kicks off at 6 PM. Nearly 70 carnival compositions will be showcased, created by local communities, schools, clubs, creative groups, and visitors from across the country and abroad.

The parade is akin to Hyde Park, where Gabrovo residents express their thoughts through humor, with a wink and a smile, and the characteristic boldness that turns the carnival into a mirror of our times.

The winner of the carnival pictures, who will claim the grand prize of 4000 euros, will be announced after the event. Each picture has a chance to shine, and every group can surprise with their creativity. The jury evaluates originality, humor, artistic execution, relevance, and impact on the audience.

After the procession, the grand carnival night begins at 8:30 PM with a musical-visual spectacle that exceeds all expectations. Frankie & Canthina Band will open the massive outdoor dance floor with disco, funk, and soul classics from Donna Summer to Kool & the Gang.

At 10 PM, the traditional light show takes place, transforming the sky above Gabrovo into a spectacular display of light and fire effects.

15 minutes later, IL Martedi del Villaggio, a southern Italian format that shakes the nightlife of Gallipoli, makes its exclusive debut in Gabrovo.

A combination of electronic music, powerful DJ sets, lasers, light effects, and aerial acrobatics from extreme heights will take place simultaneously on the stage and over the audience.

On May 16, Gabrovo will not just host a carnival; it will offer a unique experience to be remembered.
