However, the negotiations did not materialize, and Tamaș decided to join AFC ASA Târgu Mureș.

In recent weeks, Tamaș had discussions with both Corona Brașov and AFC ASA Târgu Mureș. “It’s true that I had discussions with Corona Brașov, but the negotiations did not advance. It seems they don’t need me,” Tamaș told Liga2.ro.
AFC ASA Târgu Mureș Faces Legal Issues with Unirea Ungheni
The club in Târgu Mureș claims to have an ambitious project and aims to promote to the top league next season. However, they are facing legal issues with Unirea Ungheni, the team to which they theoretically transferred their league spot in Liga 2 last summer. The Football Ruling Commission (FRF) could cancel AFC ASA’s league spot if it is determined that Târgu Mureș did not fulfill their obligations.
AFC ASA Târgu Mureș, which moved directly from Liga 4 to Liga 2, finished the regular season in 7th place and ended the playoff in 1st place in Group A.
Tamaș’s Previous Career Moves
Tamaș, who retired from playing in October 2023, spent time at Concordia Chiajna as a player before becoming the club’s sports director from March 2024 to December 2025. He has an impressive career, starting with FC Brașov in 1999 and playing for clubs in Romania, Turkey, Russia, Spain, France, England, and Israel. He earned 67 caps and scored three goals for the Romanian national team.
