Four Bulgarian Clubs Qualify for European Volleyball Tournaments
The Bulgarian clubs set to participate in the European volleyball tournaments for the 2026/2027 season must confirm their entries by 17:00 on May 22, the deadline set by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV). Bulgaria has secured four quotas for the European club competitions, as reported by the National Volleyball League.
Champions Levski Sofia have secured a spot in the prestigious Champions League, while the Bulgarian Cup winner, Neftohimik 2010, will represent the country in the second-tier CEV Cup.
Lokomotiv Avia and CSKA have earned the right to participate in the Challenge Cup following their strong performances in the efbet Super Volley, where they reached the semi-finals, and the Plovdiv team finished third.
In the event of a club declining their invitation, the National Volleyball League will offer the vacated spot to the next club in the final standings of the efbet Super Volley.
Further developments will determine whether a Bulgarian team will be included in the Balkan Cup, traditionally held at the end of September or the beginning of October.
This is huge for Bulgarian volleyball! Four teams in European competitions is a big deal and shows the league's strength. Will the Balkan Cup see a Bulgarian representative this year? Let's hope so!
