Former UFC Champion Colby Covington Announces Retirement

Former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington has officially informed the organization of his retirement from active competition. The news was confirmed by UFC officials on Monday, and the organization's database now lists Covington as a retired fighter.

Covington (17-5) last fought in the UFC in December 2024, where he suffered a knockout loss to Joaquim Buckley in the third round. This followed his unsuccessful attempt to claim the undisputed welterweight title from Leon Edwards the year before. Covington's career in the octagon included 12 wins and 5 losses, with notable victories over Jorge Masvidal, Tyron Woodley, Rafael dos Anjos, and Roby Lore.

The 38-year-old fighter, known for his "Chaos" persona, had been active in wrestling matches in recent months, defeating Luke Rockhold and Dylan Danis earlier this year in the "Real American Freestyle" promotion. He is scheduled to face Chris Weidman in Texas on May 30 under the RAF banner.
