The governor of Batman, Ekrem Canalp, announced plans for a five-star "Cave Hotel" and "Coastal Road" to revitalize the historical town of Hasankeyf, aiming for one million visitors this year. Hasankeyf, known for its historical and cultural heritage, is set to undergo major transformations with these visionary projects. In the launch of the 'Batman-Şırnak Ancient Civilizations Route' project, attended by Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, Governor Canalp and Deputy Mayor Ekrem Canalp shared the good news of two significant investments that will change the face of the town.

Auction for the Cave Hotel in June

The "Cave Hotel" project aims to bring international standards to Hasankeyf's tourism. Governor Canalp, recalling that the project was one of the former governors' biggest goals, shared details about the tender process: "The 'Cave Hotel' project was the goal of my predecessors as well, but it fell to me to realize it. The tender for the hotel, which will be built on a 40-dunam site, will be conducted at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in June. This five-star hotel will significantly boost tourism in Hasankeyf."

Coastal Road Project Ready for Tender

The preparations for the "Coastal Road Project," another eagerly awaited investment, have also been completed. Governor Canalp stated that the Batman Provincial Administration General Directorate, located in the project kitchen, has completed the tender preparations, and construction will begin soon after the tender.

New Season Target: One Million Tourists

With these two major investments, the tourism potential of Hasankeyf is set to grow exponentially. Governor Canalp emphasized the increase in visitor targets: "Last year, we hosted 680,000 domestic and foreign tourists in our historical district. Our new and ambitious goal for this year is to exceed one million tourists and set a new record in our region."
