Five Bulgarians Elected to Various Commissions of the European Taekwondo Union

Five Bulgarian representatives have been elected to various commissions within the European Taekwondo Union (European Taekwondo Union). This is another recognition of Bulgarian taekwondo, which has been solidifying its position not only through sporting achievements but also institutionally within European structures.

Coaches, Judges, and Administrators

The senior coach of the national team, Farzad Zolhadrí, is part of the Coaches' Commission, which works on questions related to coaching preparation and the development of training methodologies. One of the country's best home judges, Iliya Dimitrov, has been elected to the Judges' Commission, which oversees judge rules, their application, and the development of judge cadres.

Alexander Minev, the general secretary of the central administration, is part of the Institutional Relations Commission, which maintains relations between federations and international sports organizations. Andrei Georgiev, a former president of the Bulgarian Federation, was elected to the Membership Commission, which deals with policies regarding the admission and development of members in the Union's structure.

Educational and Applied Science

Ramus Vice President of the Federation and President of the Taekwondo Club, Dimitar Mikhailov, has been elected to the Education and Applied Science Commission, which plays a key role in developing scientific and educational standards in the sport.

"This is a great recognition and means a lot to me, as I have been nominated and elected as a member of the Committee on Education and Applied Sciences," said Dimitar Mikhailov. He highlighted that the opportunity to be part of this committee is a result of long-term work in the sport. "I am very pleased to be recognized and evaluated, as I have been involved in taekwondo since the age of five and have gone through all stages - competitor, coach, leader, and educator. I am an educator for the World Taekwondo Federation, and I have conducted training for representatives from all over the world," he added.

According to Mikhailov, this recognition is not only a personal success but also a testament to the development of the Bulgarian school. "The philosophy of the sport is to pass on your experience. I am exceptionally happy that I can continue to contribute to the sport I love. My nomination, as well as those of my colleagues from the federation, shows that our work is being recognized - both by the European Taekwondo Union and the World Taekwondo Federation."

He believes that participation in international commissions offers a real opportunity to influence the development of the sport. "As part of these structures, we have the opportunity to actively participate in the decisions and innovations that are being introduced in taekwondo."
