FCSB, the reigning champions, is still being coached by an individual who has been granted dispensation from the FRF (Federatia Română de Fotbal), with no good news about a new coach with valid credentials. The departure of Mirel Rădoi on April 21 has put FCSB in a difficult situation. The team needs a coach by the end of the season, but it seems unlikely that Elias Charalambous will return.

On May 21, the term for which FCSB can use Lucian Filip as the principal coach, following Mirel Rădoi's departure, will expire. According to the rules, Gigi Becali's team has received a dispensation to use an unlicensed coach for 30 days. This period can only be extended in cases of force majeure, but it is unlikely that UEFA or FIFA will approve such an extension.

There was hope that Elias Charalambous, who resigned on March 7, would return to the team, but Lucian Filip stated that he is unaware of any such plans. "My mandate ends after the match with Hermannstadt. A coach with a Pro license will certainly come," Filip said.

"Even if another coach comes, we will remain here, supporting the players. We don't want to cause any discomfort. We want to support the players as well as the new coach. I have no signal that Elias will return, but I don't think it would be correct to declare that I wish Elias to come."

For FCSB, the upcoming match against FC Hermannstadt is crucial as it is part of the ninth round, the final stage of the Superliga play-out. FCSB, currently in first place with 37 points, is guaranteed a place in the Conference League qualifiers. However, the team is focused on not being overtaken by any other team with European licenses.

The match is scheduled for May 22 or 23, and in the event of a win, FCSB will face Dinamo in the decisive match for the Conference League qualifiers. Andrei Nicolescu, the president of the white-red team, announced that the match scheduled for May 29 or 30 will be played at the "Arcul de Triumf" Stadium.
