FCSB, the Romanian champions, will play their first-ever play-out match in the Conference League against FC Botoșani on May 24, at 8:30 PM. The match will be broadcast live on DigiSport 1 and PrimaSport 1, the channels that cover all Superliga games.

The team, under the guidance of Gigi Becali, will return to the National Arena in Ghencea for the game. The venue has been blocked by concerts, leading the team to play their recent match against Unirea Slobozia at a different stadium. Despite a 0-0 draw, FCSB secured a home advantage for the play-off.

Before the match against FC Botoșani, FCSB has one more league game to play. They will face FC Hermannstadt in Sibiu, where the hosts are fighting to avoid relegation. Currently, FC Hermannstadt and Unirea Slobozia have the same number of points (22), and the final standings will determine which team faces relegation.

If both teams end up with the same points, the criteria for breaking the tie will be based on the number of points accumulated at the end of the regular season. Unirea Slobozia finished with 25 points, while FC Hermannstadt had 23. This could lead to a scenario where four teams have the same points after the ninth round of the play-out.

Should FC Hermannstadt and Unirea Slobozia win their respective matches, and Petrolul and Farul lose, Hermannstadt would be relegated, while Farul and Unirea Slobozia would face a play-off for survival.

The final round of play-out matches will include Farul vs. Metaloglobus, Petrolul vs. Oțelul, Unirea vs. UTA, and FC Hermannstadt vs. FCSB.
