FC Botosani is gearing up for one of the season's most significant matches, a Conference League playoff semifinal against FCSB. However, the club is facing the potential departure of two of its key players, Sebastian Mailat and Dimitrov, as they have received offers from other clubs.

Mailat and Dimitrov, on the Brink of Leaving Botosani

Chairman Valeriu Iftime confirmed that Sebastian Mailat has a concrete offer and that the club is willing to let him go. Iftime stated, “Mailat has an offer, and if he wants to leave, we will let him go. There's also something for Dimitrov. I've sold him before; he's like Ongenda, I keep selling him. He's an extraordinary player, and if he has a good offer, I've given him permission to leave.”

Iftime, however, hopes that a potential qualification for European cups will convince the players to stay with the team. He added, “If we play in a European cup, no one will leave. Not because I won't let them, but because they won't want to leave.”

Rated at 1.2 million euros on Transfermarkt, Sebastian Mailat is having one of the best seasons of his career. The winger has played 39 matches across all competitions for FC Botosani, scoring 13 goals and providing five key assists.

The Moldovans will face FCSB on Sunday at 8:30 PM in the Conference League playoff semifinal. If they advance past the Bucharest team, they will face Dinamo Bucharest in the final for the last European spot.
