A River of Faith
The atmosphere inside the Temple of Saint Sava is electric, charged not with the roar of a crowd but with the profound silence of reverence. From May 20th until the evening of June 2nd, more than half a million believers have streamed into the cathedral. They wait with extraordinary patience, standing in lines for eight, nine, or even ten hours. Why? For just five seconds of spiritual blessing. The Serbian Orthodox Church has confirmed these staggering numbers, marking one of the largest religious gatherings in recent history.
A Message from Mount Athos
Father Teodos, the monk guarding this sacred relic, delivered a powerful statement to Hram TV. He revealed that the brotherhood of the Vatopedi Monastery is deeply moved by what they witness in Belgrade. "God loves Serbia," Father Teodos proclaimed. "We see a nation that loves the True God and His Mother. This means God will not leave His people without protection and help."
The sight of a nation dedicating nearly a full day of waiting for a fleeting moment of divine connection, without any material gain, has inspired the monks. They describe seeing a people who remember that their true homeland is the Heavenly Kingdom. This dedication stands as a testament to the spiritual resilience of the Serbian people in the 21st century.
The Final Departure
The Holy Belt of the Theotokos will remain in the capital until Saturday, June 6th. The journey concludes with a solemn service led by Patriarch Porfirije. After the liturgy, the relic will be ceremonially escorted back to its home, the great monastery of Vatopedi on Mount Athos. The event marks a historic moment of unity and faith, drawing millions of hearts toward a single point of spiritual light.
