In a surprising turn of events, a moment during Eros Ramazzotti's sold-out concert in Sofia on April 24 has taken on a prophetic significance. During his performance at Arena 8888, the Italian star surprised over 13,000 fans by suddenly singing and dancing to "Bangarang," the song that represented Bulgaria in Eurovision 2023.

The audience erupted in applause, and the video of the moment quickly spread on TikTok and other social media platforms. At the time, it was seen as a kind gesture to the Bulgarian audience. However, in light of Bulgaria's historic triumph at Eurovision, the video is now viewed in a completely different light.

The video of Ramazzotti performing "Bangarang" has once again gone viral, but this time it has sparked serious controversy, particularly in his home country. Many Italian fans accused the singer of showing disrespect to Salva, Italy's Eurovision representative, who won the Sanremo Music Festival earlier this year.

Dozens of critical comments appeared under the video, including "I'm disappointed," "Lack of respect for Salva," "You've fallen very low," and "What a shame." According to some fans, Ramazzotti demonstrated support for the Bulgarian song instead of his own country's representative.

The controversy was further fueled by Ramazzotti's earlier comments about Italy's Eurovision song. In an interview, the singer admitted that he believed the composition by Salva was not the best choice for Eurovision.

“The song is not bad, but the arrangements sound a bit retro. People accept that style, of course. But is this song the right fit for Eurovision? I don't think so. It doesn't represent us in the best light. There were stronger songs,” Ramazzotti commented.

At the same time, many of his fans defended him, reminding others that the performance of "Bangarang" in Sofia occurred weeks before Bulgaria's victory. According to them, the gesture was simply a sign of respect to the host country of Ramazzotti's Una Storia Importante World Tour.

“This song represents Bulgaria, what better way to pay respect to the Bulgarian audience?” wrote one of his supporters on Instagram. Another user added: “People are turning everything this man does into a scandal. The video is from April 24 and he simply sang the song that represents the country.”
