Emil Sandoi, a former member of the University of Craiova's 1991 championship-winning team, was in attendance at Sunday's match and celebrated the success of the blue-white team. The University of Craiova clinched the Romanian football championship title after a 35-year hiatus with a decisive 5-0 (2-0) victory over the University of Cluj on Sunday evening at the "Ion Oblemenco" stadium, during the 9th round of the Superliga playoffs.

Sandoi believes the changes made before the season were beneficial and led to the recipe for success. Notably, players Ivan, Markovic, Barbu, and Ișfan left the team.

"The game the team played on Sunday evening, from my perspective, was a mistake-free game. But, it's true, we mustn't forget the audience. The support was unprecedented, with fantastic energy that came from the stands. The starting eleven implemented a tactical plan without any deviation from a very aggressive start, pressing in the opponent's territory."

He continued, "Until the 2-0 lead at the 9th minute, I don't even know how many steps Cluj managed to take or how many times they succeeded in getting out of their own half."

"We saw a level of capability in all the players that is rarely seen in our championship. You see it in strong championships abroad. Given all these years in the sport, I may be able to discern other aspects. Normally, I'm not just a spectator at the game."

"That's why I say, congratulations to everyone in the club for the performance they managed and for how they managed to close this final game."

He also highlighted that the summer restructuring was a key move. "Some of the players who were here, from the area, had been playing for a few years, some mature players, some young ones. Some lines were changed. That's where the main shift happened. And then, the transfers that were made, the conditions at Craiova, the desire for performance."

"I've always said that in the early stages, they were the favorites for the title. Many people said I was being subjective. Craiova had a very good bench, so they prepared very well for the season. Nothing was left to chance. Everything was planned, discussed."

"It's hard to say who deserves more credit. Ultimately, the one who finishes the championship deserves more credit. He adapted very quickly to our championship."
